2024-05-02meta-agl-bsp: NXP i.MX6 and i.MX8 fixesScott Murray1-4/+0
These changes should allow the etnaviv GPU driver using NXP i.MX6 and i.MX8 machines (e.g. cubox-i, imx8mq-evk) to build. Testing on hardware is required for the i.MX6, and etnaviv does not seem to be working on the i.MX8MQ-EVK as the previous devicetree tweak being used no longer seems applicable. Further investigation will be done in the near future as time permits. Notable changes: - The i.MX6 configurations have been switched to using the linux-fslc kernel instead of linux-fslc-lts, as the latter is older (6.1 vs 6.6). - The kernel patch against linux-fslc-imx to enable the MHDP driver when using etnaviv has been removed since it is no longer required. - The local workaround to allow enabling the "wayland" PACKAGECONFIG when building weston-imx has been replaced with use of the now provided upstream variable that allows that. Note that building with this version of Weston has not been tested since it is tied to using the Vivante GPU driver. 2022-07-29meta-agl-bsp: Pin i.MX platform kernels to 5.15 LTSScott Murray1-0/+4
The recent bump of meta-freescale with the kirkstone 4.0.2 upgrade brought an upgrade to 5.18 in the linux-fslc kernel, which breaks sllin compilation. Tweak the i.MX6 and i.MX8 machine templates to use the 5.15 linux-fslc-lts kernel, which matches linux-yocto in poky and seems a better choice going forward with kirkstone. 2021-06-01Update i.MX machine configurationsScott Murray1-19/+1
Changes: - Add new i.MX and i.MX6 common inc files and shift duplicated configuration to them. - Switch to using the newer IMX_BSP_DEFAULT variable mechanism for selecting mainline vs NXP bits, instead of adding use-mainline-bsp to MACHINEOVERRIDES. - Remove the accidental addition of agl-medium-arm-compiler to DISTRO_FEATURES for the imx8mqevk configurations. - Remove some other stale variable definitions. - Update BSP layer path in i.MX6 template 50_setup.sh files, these were missed on a previous update. 2020-03-18Consolidation of AGL_DEFAULT_IMAGE_FSTYPES after review of machine useJan-Simon Moeller1-2/+0
After reviewing what all machines actually specify as 'extra', the conclusion was that the actual 'default' is 'wic.xz' . Consequently make this the new default and remove it from the board configs. v2: add ext4/ext4.xz for netboot feature Bug-AGL: SPEC-2771 Change-Id: I082f87a07dcacb962d10efd90ba2476f87896302 Signed-off-by: Jan-Simon Moeller <jsmoeller@linuxfoundation.org>
2019-07-24Fix i.MX6 multiple package tuning problemScott Murray1-0/+5
Update the i.MX6 machine definition include files to disable the dynamic package architecture logic in meta-freescale, as it conflicts with AGL's setting of DEFAULTTUNE and results in a split package feed. 2019-06-20meta-agl-bsp: Changes to get imx6qdlsabreauto working with etnavivScott Murray1-15/+11
Update imx6qdlsabreauto configuration to use open source etnaviv GPU driver instead of Vivante. The previously required weston-ini-conf has been removed as it is not required with etnaviv, and a bbappend has been added for the linux-fslc kernel that this configuration uses so it will pull in the AGL kernel bits. Additionally, the kernel configuration for linux-fslc is tweaked with config fragments to better match the other AGL platforms. 2019-04-23Fix imx6qdlsabreauto machine configurationBechir Mghirbi1-0/+20
The imx6qsabreauto target was falling behind and could not be build for GG-7.0. The commit 808fff5 from 'AGL-repo' removed reference to external repos meta-freescale-3rdparty and meta-freescale-distro. However 'meta-agl' was not updated to follow up on this change which broke configuration for imx6 based targets. This patch makes the required changes to fix the imx6qsabreauto machine configuration: - removes reference to deleted layers: meta-freescale-3rdparty and meta-freescale-distro - updates MACHINE value to imx6qdlsabreauto as defined in meta-freescale layer - deletes reference to packagegroup-fscl-* not required to build AGL - add "agl-medium-arm-compiler" to DISTRO_FEATURES so DEFAULTTUNE is correctly set to 'armv7athf-neon' v2 (jsmoeller): moved board name to match MACHINE v3 (bechir.mghirbi): - remove wayland_2.0.0 as weston_4.0.0.imx is used. - use default IMAGE_FSTYPES as bitbake is complaining that no IMAGE_CMD defined for IMAGE_FSTYPES entry 'sdcard' - Add CFG80211 Kernel configuration Change-Id: Ib8b1d254972c737725247a5b13ce333e8ef9d4dc Signed-off-by: Bechir Mghirbi <bechir.mghirbi@grammer.com> Signed-off-by: Jan-Simon Möller <jsmoeller@linuxfoundation.org>
